Beginning T'ai Chi

Mondays & Thursdays 6:00 - 7:00 PM Learn our form in about 2 months. This form is taught step by step in our online video library. We also teach movement live in detail in our Monday & Thursday night beginning classes. We carefully instruct each movement and use exercises to help students not only understand the choreography of a movement, but the energy and function of the movement.
Currently these classes are taught live in person as well as on zoom. .

Advanced T'ai Chi

Mondays & Thursdays 7:00 - 8:00 PM After learning the basic choreography, students can really delve into the heart of t'ai chi - internal dynamics. Students learn and explore things like moving energy, rooting, neutralizing, and emitting energy. Students also build skill in applying these energies in two person exercises such as push hands. These two person sensing exercises help students deepen their awareness, health and martial ability.
Currently these classes are taught live in person as well as on zoom.

Saturday Practice

Saturdays 9:00 - 10:00 AM On Saturday mornings students can come from 9:00 to 10:00 AM to practice push hands together. When the weather is good we will be outside.

Qigong

Special Classes Some qigong is taught in all of our t'ai chi classes. We offer special qigong classes that solely focus on qigong ocasionally. These sessions cover more specialized qigong including bone marrow washing and deeper internal energy sets often referred to as neigong.

Private Lessons

Scheduled by Appointment Private lessons give us a chance to work more individually and in depth with stud ents. We can work together to:
-Increase mobility and health as students recover from injury.
-Tailor practices for people with limited mobility.
-Help students break through plateaus in their practice.
-Provide a more comfortable environment for those who are more comfortable with one on one sessions.
-Apply t'ai chi principles to specific activities from playing the piano to manual labor.
Private lessons are typically held at Sifu Greg's Healing Office.

Workshops

Available at Your Location T'ai chi mechanics create relaxation and efficiency. For musicians, this means they can deliver more energy into their music and avoid repetitive stress injury. For athletes, they find more power and stamina. Many groups have reached greater potential by learning t'ai chi principles.  Sifu Greg has worked extensively with pianists and helped a number of athletes. Call us to set up a workshop for your group.
Greg has helped me integrate t'ai chi principles into my performing and teaching. I experience greater efficiency and comfort physically, which translates into longer and more enjoyable hours at the piano as well as a more flexible and satisfying sound. I am experiencing a more authentic connection to the instrument and music as well as communication with the audience.

Student Testimonials

* My husband and I are taking beginning taiji with Greg. We both like the tai chi form and also like Greg’s method of instructing. It is relaxing for us and a gentle strengthening for our muscles. It also seems to be improving our balance and general body alignment. Greg is a relaxed and patient instructor. We like how he educates us on the philosophy of tai chi and the movements. -Pat and David

* I took 3 taiji classes through University of Wisconsin continuing education back when I was in grad school, with 2 different instructors, and then, much later on, I took another course here, and you stand head and shoulders above any instructor I’ve had previously. I really like and appreciate the way that you weave three different threads through every class: the way each movement is supposed to look; the body mechanics logic of each movement; and the martial applications of different movements. I really enjoy your teaching style, and I know that your style of teaching is the reason I’ve stuck with this for so long. I’m enjoying our current practice of learning about each movement in depth. -Andy

* We feel that Taiji enhances our balance, body awareness, concentration, and that it enriches our souls. -Glenn & Joan
